Sarah and Dan - brother/ Sister DUO who love surfing
Dan and Sarah grew up by the coast, shaped by early mornings, sandy car boots, and that never-ending obsession with the ocean.
Surfing wasn’t a hobby; it was a lifestyle, a community, and a therapy all rolled into one that two siblings have been sharing for over 25 years.
And like most surfers, they got tired of replacing gear that just didn’t last.
How it started
it all started with a love of surfing
Sarah was already 17 when Dan was born, which means she quite literally grew up before him… and then grew up with him.
By the time Dan arrived, Sarah had already lived a whole chapter of life. Then along came this grom with sand in his ears and salt in his veins, and surfing became the thread that quietly stitched their worlds together.
How it works...
Dan is the hands-on surf obsessive. Coach, waterman, product tester the guy who’ll put gear through real punishment before it ever hits the website. If it doesn’t survive heavy use, it doesn’t make the cut. He brings the practical surf knowledge, the “will this actually work in overhead sets?” filter, and the no-BS approach to design.
Sarah brings the strategy, brand vision, and relentless standards. With a background in business, e-commerce and marketing and as a founder herself, she’s the one asking, “How do we make this better? Stronger? More sustainable? More Australian?” She’s obsessed with building something that lasts, not just products, but a brand with integrity.
Together, they balance each other out.

More than a brand, Boardsox is a community. Sarah and Dan actively support ocean conservation efforts, collaborate with environmental organizations, and participate in initiatives to give back to the surfing world that has given them so much. Their mission is not just to protect the oceans but also to inspire others to do the same – one wave, one surfer, and one Boardsox at a time.
